If it hadn't been for Lauren my wife and I would still be discussing our various but inconclusive ideas for our lounge and hallway refurbishment. We are so pleased we found Lauren. She immediately bought our attention to what mattered most in a very professional and personal manner. Living in an old property brings its own unique problems not least of which, in our particular case, the unusual shape of the room(S). We used Lauren to design our living room/dining room and conservatory following building work to remove the wall between the living room and dining room. This was my first experience of using an interior designer and honestly I was worried about whether I would get value for money as I thought I could just choose my own furniture and layout. I am now a total convert to the world of interior design and will use Lauren again in the future when we makeover other parts of the house!
Lauren is very professional and personable - she listened to everything we said we liked/didn't like and took time to understand what we wanted from the space. She offered us multiple drafts of the work as we went through and explained how/why she would choose certain things for us.
She then produced a design which we both absolutely love - everything she chose looks amazing and most importantly almost without exception all her recommendations were things I would never have picked myself, but put together in the room in Lauren's layout they look brilliant and they tick all the boxes of what we wanted from the space. Walking through the design with her on her laptop/presentation screen and seeing it all mapped out was so useful to know if we were going along the right lines and to adjust course where necessary.
The completed room looks contemporary and is filled with furniture that wont seem dated quickly - she also helped to source a carpenter to build in some furniture/storage which makes the space look very polished. She also kept the costs down by using what Lauren calls "Ikea hacks" and that meant we got a lot for our money. I am really thrilled with the space and I 100% recommend Lauren for anyone considering a project - the service was fantastic and she really cares about delivering quality. She also sourced all the products for us and gave us a shopping list that made life easy. She balanced some higher end items with some more value items e.g. we have brass spotlights that were towards the more expensive end of others that are available, however they do look lovely and on the other end we have a dining table light from Matalan. That ability to invest in value where it counts was greatly appreciated as we got a really high quality finish without feeling like we were throwing money away - the range of suppliers balanced out nicely to deliver value for money.
